Summer

This is David finally putting up a post. I made the Kaysville All Star Team and our season just ended. The first tournament that we were in was the Farmington Tournament. Our first game was against West Jordan A. We were Kaysvile B. We lost that game 16-5 and I went 1 for 1 with a single and a walk. The second game later that day was against Southeast Valley B. The first pitcher could throw strikes but wasn't very fast, we ended up scoring about 10 runs on him. Then they had to bring in a new pitcher who kept walking us. The final score was 22 to 8. The next game which was Monday night was against Kearns A or B. We went into the bottom of the last inning down 4 to 3. Then there were two outs and two strikes and our batter walked. Then on the next batter there was a passed ball. Then they walked the guy, and then on the next batter he through a passed ball and the runners went to second and third. Then next pitch was another passed ball and a run scored to tie up the game. Then the balked to let the winning run score, so we won 5 to 4. Then next game was against Centerville which only had one team. We scored a ton of runs and won 16-9. Then we made it to the final four teams who would play a single elimination tournament. We played Farmington A and we lost 18-7. We scored more runs against them in that game then they had given up in the other four games in the tournament combined. We also held them under their average of twenty runs. The next tournament was the district tournament. If we finished in the top three we would go to state. We won the first game 22-7. Then we lost the second game 18-4. The third game we won 25-5 and then the last game if we won we would make to state. We were leading 6-2 in the last inning and then they tied it and then in extra innings then won the game 7-2.

School, School, and more Rain

So lately, it seems like I've had a lot more homework then usual. All I usually ever have to do is practice violin. And yes, that is homework for me. The increased pile of homework probably has something to do with the fact that there's only 37 days of school left. And the fact that CRTs are coming up in a few weeks. The cool part about CRTs this year is that I get to take them on a computer, instead of on those headache-inducing bubble sheets. But only I get to take them on the computer. David and Michael still have to use the bubble sheets. Anyway, moving on to other things. Tonight David and Michael have a piano recital. Up until last year, I would be included in it also, but I quit piano and took up violin, which I must say, I enjoy a whole lot more. I don't know what David and Michael are playing, but I do know that they are playing a piece by themselves, then doing a duet together. I think Michael may be playing the Star Wars theme. Also, David's baseball season has started. All of his games are during the week I believe. He had his first game on the 23rd, which he lost 9-5. He is currently at another one right now, and I don't know if he's winning or not. I have had 3 of my 7 soccer games so far. We've tied one, lost one, and won one. The one we won, the other team forfeited. Dad, David, and I are going to a Jazz game tonight. I will probably come home deaf. If you have ever been to a Jazz playoff game, you probably know what I mean. And last, but not least, I'm now 14 and David is 12. So we both go to Mutual together. We don't see each other really, unless it's a combined activity with all of our youth. Anyway, amazingly, I've run out of stuff to talk about. Maybe that's not that amazing.

Final Four (finally!)

The Final Four starts today. The games have already started. And so, before any of the games end, or the standings are updated, here are the current top five: Brandon's in 1st, Dawn's in 2nd, Ryan and James are tied for 3rd, Grandpa is in 4th, and I'm in 5th. Woot! Michael's right behind me in 6th, and David has fallen all the way to 13th. I don't know where my dad is.
Anyway, today I my first soccer game. It was really fun, mostly because I'm good friends with a lot of people on the other team. I was goalie. We didn't win though. Or lose. We tied, 0-0. The other goalie, who is also one of my friends, was really good. Also, playing on fields that have grass grown over gravel are not good to play soccer on if you're going to be diving for the ball. It scratches up your knees. And they're not little scratches either.
David had baseball practice today. His first baseball game is either the 22nd or 23rd of April. Michael has his Raingutter Regatta next Thursday, on my birthday. That should be interesting.

April Fools Day

Guess what? I'm now 6 ft. tall! No, I'm not really. It would be cool if I was though. Anyway, so yesterday was April Fools Day. The day of tricks. Why do they call it April Fools Day? I don't know. Maybe they want to see who is fool enough to believe anything said that day. Anyway, some funny things that people did yesterday. Well, Gmail decided to announce that people could now decide what time they wanted an email to be sent. Not like, you want something to be sent at 8 in the morning the next day. You could send an email and say it got sent like an hour before or a day before you actually sent it. At KJH (my jr. high) the people who were doing announcements decided to say Mr. Hadlock (our principal) was retiring, and it was his last day at the school. They also put it up on the marquee. I decided to tell people I was moving to New York. It didn't work very well, 'cuz, sadly, I couldn't keep a straight face. At Burton, (David and Michael's school, the elementary) they didn't do anything. I can't believe they didn't. Also, David and I (and my dad of course) are going to a Jazz game tonight. I hope it's like Monday, where the Jazz beat the Wizards by 40. That was a fun game to watch.

More March Madness

So the Sweet Sixteen round starts today. Oh joy. Now David will constantly be watching basketball all weekend. I'm currently in 17th place with some other people. And yet, David is still in 1st with Uncle Nathan. Rather ironic, if you ask me. Oh, oh, here's a quote about irony. If you can't tell yet, I like quotes. They usually can say something better than I can. Anyway, here it is: "Humor is everywhere, in that there's irony in just about anything a human does"-- Bill Nye. That can't be Bill Nye the Science Guy? Can it? I just watched Bill Nye in my science class a couple weeks ago. Anyway, moving on to other things. David's basketball season is over, but he has baseball tryouts this Saturday. And I have soccer practice! You may think it's kinda strange to be excited about soccer practice, but I am. I've already played the 1st half of my season in the fall. It's kinda peculiar how rec soccer is split into two halfs of a season. Also, I will be 14 in two short weeks. Actually, it will probably seem like two LONG weeks to me. David will be turning 12 in 3 weeks, a week after my birthday. Anyway, I've rambled enough. I'll leave now.

And So The Madness Continues.............

Yep, it's March Madness time. And so, after the 1st round and almost half of the 2nd round, David is in 1st place. He won't be for long, as he picked Duke to win the whole tourney, and Duke's already out. Unless West Virginia keeps winning. The top three people are David, then Michael, James, Ryan, and Nathan are all tied for 2nd. So technically, that's the top 5 people. I'm tied for 13th with Brandon, Dad, and Brian last time I checked. Either most of the littler guys know something most of us don't, or they're just really lucky. And, after all, it is only the 2nd round. Who knows what could happen? Here's a quote that kinda applies to March Madness. "Sanity calms, but madness is more interesting"-- John Russell. It's probably true.

March Madness Time

Hello people, it March madness time. Everybody seems to think UCLA or UNC is going to win it all. Well most people are wrong. Duke will beat UCLA, then play STANFORD, Win and play Kansas and win. There won't be many upsets this year. IF you disagree with David's opinion on March Madness, please express that by commenting. It is David for the first time.

Basketball

So on Saturday, David had a basketball game. I actually went to this one instead of watching Spencer at home. It was a good game and David's team was so close to winning. But, unfortunately, close only counts in horseshoes. He has one more game for the season. Then everybody gets to watch me play soccer. woot! Speaking of basketball, March Madness starts soon. YES! Can't wait!

Spring

If anybody who is reading this is stuck in a state where winter IS existent, you can probably empathize with me. I'm sick of winter. On Saturday, we were out in our front yard. It was very nice, in the 50s. It smelled like soccer season. to me at least. Or the smell in the air reminded me of soccer. whichever you prefer. And then, suddenly, the weather decided we needed more snow. ugh. Fortunately, the snow only lasted about a day, so it wasn't all that depressing. Anyway, hopefully spring will come soon.

President's Day

For lack of something more current to write about, I'll tell you what we did for President's Day. Besides playing Wii almost the whole day, we also went bowling. Dad won with some score over a hundred. Spencer came in 5th (better than he would have, 'cuz me and David and Michael took turns bowling for him). Let me tell you, bowling on a Wii is a LOT easier. and I'm better at it too. We also went to a movie later that night. Veggie Tales' The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything. Who knew vegetables could be so amusing? Have you ever heard the B-52s' song, Rock Lobster? Well, Big Idea Productions decided to make a spoof of it. It's called Rock Monster. You'd have to see the movie to get the song. I must say, the song was very funny. The whole theater was laughing.

New Family Blog!

So, I finally convinced my parents (mostly my dad) to let us have a family blog. Mostly since I couldn't have one of my own. And I get to run it. That is me, Angela. So hopefully, I'll be posting once or twice a week. If I have anything to post about. I will probably be the only one posting. Mostly. Maybe David once in a while. Probably not my parents. Well, maybe. But anyway, check back often and comment!
